I absolutely love Tuesdays right now. It’s my day off from school and I basically use it as a completely lazy day. I didn’t even get out of bed today until around 4pm (though in my defense, I was awake… Just watching TV). It’s the day that I wake up with the mentality that none of the stress from the rest of the week or past week is going to get to me and I’m going to have a good day. I usually don’t end up lounging all day long, since I try to get stuff that needs to be done taken care of. Today I finally did up all my laundry, so now that’s out of the way.

Alice in Wonderland Aside from my relaxation today, I think it’s going to be a pretty awesome week. Saturday is Kyle’s birthday and as an early present, I snagged us a couple of tickets to the midnight showing of Alice in Wonderland in 3D.

There are no words to describe how excited I am to see this. Not just because I’m a Johnny Depp fan, not just because I’m a Tim Burton fan, but because its Alice in Wonderland! I’ve always been a huge fan of anything and everything Alice ever since I used to watch Adventures in Wonderland on Disney Channel when I was a kid… But my obsession has laid dormant for a few years since there really was nothing new coming out. But In the past 6 months I’ve seen TWO new Alice-related things: SyFy’s Alice and Wonderland: Alice’s New Musical Adventure (the latter I actually flew across the country to see because it was only showing in Houston) and they’ve managed to bring out the rabid fangirl in me once more.

I think my excitement is rubbing off, since the other night Kyle was just as excited as me when we were at the movies seeing Dear John and we came across this huge cardboard mural of all the characters sitting at the tea table. We probably looked like idiots standing there taking pictures of each other standing next to it with Kyle’s new cellphone.

Plus, to make everything even better, because I ordered our tickets from Fandango, I unknowingly qualified for a promotion they’re doing with Disney. So I got an email and ended up getting to download a free song off the Almost Alice soundtrack (It’s the 2nd soundrack. The first is songs from the movie, the second is songs inspired by / that go with the movie but aren’t actually in it) called “Welcome to Mystery” by The Plain White T’s. Awesome song :D

So, here’s to hoping the rest of the week pans out to be as good as it seems like it will be!

I’m not going to lie, there were a couple of times during my hiatus when I seriously doubted that I would make my goal of reopening on March 1st. I just could not get up the motivation to work on my site or even really be bothered to think about it for that matter. But finally this past week I got it through my head that I was not going to let this damn apathy which has taken over almost every aspect of my life get the best of me and I started working on a layout. Now, 10 incarnations of that layout later, this is as good as it’s going to get (for now), and whittersNU is officially reopen!

I decided to take a leaf from the ever-wonderful Caity’s book and use my downtime give myself a fresh start. So, in addition to the fact that my blog is reopening today, you will also notice I’m doing the following things:

So other than that, I’ve got nothing left to do but welcome to back to whittersNU and hope that at least some of you are as excited about these changes as I am.
